Cariboo Cougars Pink in the Rink a huge success

The Cariboo Cougars annual breast cancer awareness fundraiser was a success both on and off the ice. Admission to today's game was by donation with all funds raised today going the Canadian Cancer Society and the CIBC Run for the Cure.

The Cariboo Cougars annual breast cancer awareness fundraiser was a success both on and off the ice.

Admission to today's game was by donation with all funds raised today going the Canadian Cancer Society and the CIBC Run for the Cure. Chuck-a-puck, the 50/50 draw, and the sale of pink t-shirts also added to today's total. When all the donations were tallied, the final total raised today was $1471.35. 

On the ice the Cariboo Cougars who are tops in the B.C. Major Midget League went into the game with a record of 7-2-1-0 and were looking to continue their winning ways against the South Island Royals who had a record of 0-10-0-0 and were looking to pick up their first win of the season. The Royals opened the scoring in the first period but after that it was all Cougars. When the final buzzer had sounded, the score was 5-1 for the home team.
