Cougars battle Chiefs in a closely fought home opener

The cats will have a second chance Saturday after Friiday's 4-3 overtime loss

The Prince George Cougars opened the 2024-25 season at home Friday with a 4-3 overtime loss to the Spokane Chiefs at the CN Centre.

Matteo Danis, Jett Lajoie, and Ephram McNutt scored for the Cougar goals. Josh Ravensbergen made 34 saves against 38 shots by the Chiefs.

The home opener weekend continues Saturday at 6 p.m. at the CN Centre..

The game will feature a 50/50 draw with a guaranteed jackpot of $65,000. 50/50 tickets must be purchased in-house only.

This will be the second of four meetings between the Cougars and Chiefs this season.,

Last season, the Cougars swept the Chiefs out of the playoffs en route to the WHL's Western Conference final.
