The Kin Centre is the place to be this afternoon to catch Northern B.C.’s top U-18 hockey teams in BC Elite Hockey League playoff action.
In the triple-A female division, the Northern Capitals are hosting a best-of-three elimination series this weekend at Kin 2 arena.
The fourth-place Capitals (10-20-1-1) lost 3-1 to the fifth-place Vancouver Island Seals (7-19-1-5) in Game 1 Friday.
Game 2 is set for Saturday at 5:45 p.m., and Game 3, if necessary, would be played Sunday at 9 a.m. at Kin 2.
Meanwhile, in the triple-A male U-18 division playoffs at Kin 1, the Cariboo Cougars drew first blood in their best-of-three quarterfinal series against Vancouver Northwest Hawks, winning the opener Friday 8-4.
The Cougars (26-8-2-0, third place) finished 25 points ahead of the Hawks (13-20-03, sixth place).
Game 2 of that series is set for Saturday at 2 p.m. Game 3, in necessary, would follow on Sunday, if necessary, at 11:45 a.m., both at Kin 1
