Prince George Cougars win 6-2 to even up playoff series

The Prince George Cougars defeated the Tri-City Americans 6-2 Wednesday to even their first-round WHL playoff series at two games apiece and guarantee a Game 6 back in Prince George.

Koehn Ziemmer and Jaxsen Wiebe led the way with two goals each, with helps from Jaxsen Wiebe, Riley Heidt and Chase Wheatcroft.

Ty Young stopped 26 of 28 shots he faced for the Cougars.

Game 5 goes Friday in Kennewick, Wash., and then both teams return to Prince George for Game 6 on Sunday at 6 p.m. at CN Centre. If necessary, Game 7 would be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at CN Centre.
