The Prince George Kodiaks Red are Western Canadian champions.
The team traveled to Calgary over the weekend for the 12-team girls club volleyball Best of the West tournament and came home as gold medalists.
After going 2-2 in round-robin play and finishing fourth of six in their pool, the Kodiaks turned it in the playoff round. Backed by tournament MVP Tyler Dahl and all-star Delaney Turner, the Kodiaks reeled off wins over the previously undefeated Huskies (Saskatchewan), Stealth (Saskatchewan) and Queens (Alberta) in their run to the title.
The Kodiaks roster also includes Eva Allen, Maggie Glover, Rielle Hamilton, Avery Johansen, Nadia Lennox, Camryn Maclachlan, Hailey Silva, Bella Saro, Emma Young and Olivia Young.
The coaches are Mark Lafleur, Jon Glover and Carly Connor.
