The Prince George Cougars closed out the 2022-23 regular season with Retro Night and a Mega 50/50 with a guaranteed Jackpot of at least $30,000.
The lucky winner was Violet Froese who took home a whopping $72,188 of over $144,000 raised.
Those funds will be going directly to Cancer research and treatment right here in Prince George benefitting Dr. Robert Olson’s world-leading research in the field of precision radiation.
The Cougars, Wood Wheaton Supercentre, and the BC Cancer Foundation have come together to make this Mega 50/50 possible.
In honour of fans past and present, the Cougars also wore throwback jerseys to bring back a lot of memories. The Cougars wore the traditional White Jersey with the logo that was worn from 1996-2008. These special threads were made possible by one of the Cougars partners in the Indigenous Policing Service.
Every fan that enters the building also received a free ballot to put in for the draw for a signed Retro Night jersey.
It was also a winning night for the team as the Cougars finished the night defeating the Kamloops Blazers 3-2.
