Ravensbergen, Heidt making noise at world junior Summer Showcase

Two Prince George Cougars in Pymouth, Mich., to face Team USA in exhibition game Saturday

Prince George Cougars goalie Josh Ravensbergen and centre Riley Heidt are sporting the maple leaf on their jerseys this week at Hockey Canada’s Summer Showcase.

Friday in Plymouth, Mich., the two Cougars suited up for Canada  White and helped the Canadians to an 8-6 win over Finland.

The 19-year-old Heidt scored once and had two assists, while Ravensbergen, 17, stopped 11 of 16 shots as his team allowed four power-play goals in the second half of the game.

Canada Red opened with a 3-2 loss to Sweden Wednesday in Windsor, Ont.

Canada lost 5-4 in a shootout Saturday in the final game of Summer Showcase in Plymouth.
