The Spruce Kings have added defenceman Alex Coventry to their BCHL roster.

The Prince George Spruce Kings have acquired Alex Coventry, a six-foot-five 17-year-old defenceman from Burnaby for the 2023-24 season.

Coventry played last year for the U-18 triple-A Vancouver Northeast Chiefs of the BC Elite Hockey League and picked up two goals and nine assists in 36 games. He also added an assist in five playoff games.

“We are excited to welcome Alex Coventry and his family to the Spruce Kings,” said head coach Alex Evin. “He has size and reach that you can't teach. We hope he can grow within our program and develop into a future key defender."
