A crowd-funding campaign is underway to raise reward money for information that would lead to the discovery of a Prince George woman who went missing in November.

Anita Florence Thorne, 49, was last seen on Wed., Nov. 19 at Super Save Gas on Victoria Street, where she purchased gas before going through the nearby Tim Hortons drive-thru, according to the campaign posting at Go Fund Me.

She was reported missing that night and her 2013 Ford Escape was found the next day at the Willow River rest stop, about 30 km east of the city.

"Her purse was inside the unlocked vehicle, and visible, with nothing apparently missing. She is believed to have her keys, cigarettes, lighter and cell phone (which has gone unanswered when called), in her possession," according to the posting.

Thorne was wearing a white hoodie with a black puffy vest, and with her brown hair up in a bun. She is Caucasian 157 cm (5'2") tall, weighing 66 kg (145 lbs), with brown eyes and brown shoulder length hair.

In the 28 days since the campaign was launched, 23 people have donated a total of $2,210. The goal is to raise $50,000.

"All funds raised will be used to offer a reward for information. Surplus funds will be used for the family's expenses relating to her disappearance," the posting says.

"Should we raise funds beyond those necessary for those two purposes, the surplus will be donated to an established charity working on women's disappearances in northern British Columbia."
