Disabled being ignored by selfish, busy people

I am writing this letter as a concern for all the disabled people in this town. My boyfriend has an electric wheelchair, and does enjoy these warm sunny days. On June 13, he was crossing the four way stop on Spruce Street, heading towards 15th.

I am writing this letter as a concern for all the disabled people in this town. My boyfriend has an electric wheelchair, and does enjoy these warm sunny days. On June 13, he was crossing the four way stop on Spruce Street, heading towards 15th. There were other vehicles there and gave him the OK to proceed. As he was driving through the intersection, he had to stop, as there was a woman pulled right up to the curb. There was no room for him to proceed, so she had to move her minivan so he could continue. Thank God there was people stopped, he was like a sitting duck, waiting for her to move. The law says he has to ride on the left side facing traffic. Does the law not say to watch for pedestrians and bikes? Well the law should also say wheelchairs. This is not the first incident I have witnessed in this town. We have run into a lot of callous people, in malls, restaurants, sporting events, always in a hurry, maybe everyone should take an extra five minutes, to open a door, the turnstile at shoppers in the mall, grabbing something off a shelf. You might even feel good at the end of your busy, selfish day.
