Lions Recycle for Sight is asking for your old glasses, Prince George.
Old, even broken, eyewear can be used to improve the outlook of someone in another country.
Donation is easy. There is a Recycle for Sight collection box at the Seniors Resource Centre, 1330 Fifth Ave.
Simply bring in your old glasses and drop them off and the Lions will take care of the rest.
All eyewear is accepted, including prescription and non-prescription glasses, sunglasses and readers. Children’s glasses are especially needed. Even if the eyewear is broken, still donate them because sometimes they can be repaired while others can be used for parts to help repair other glasses.
The donated glasses will then be shipped to the Canadian Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centre where they will be cleaned, categorized by prescription and prepared for distribution free of charge to people in developing countries.
The program also accepts used hearing aids.
