City clears debris from burned-out trailer site at Moccasin Flats

The trailer and three nearby tiny homes caught fire on Sept. 19

The City of Prince George started to clear away debris at Moccasin Flats near the burned-out trailer directly behind The Citizen office at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

There is also a back hoe, a skid steer loader and a dump truck on site.

The trailer, one of the larger structures in the encampment, caught fire and burned Sept. 19 along with three tiny homes. The fires are under investigation by police. Other fire have broken out at the site in the weeks since.

Moccasin Flats, which is protected from removal or demolition by court order, is expected to be closed this fall and its residents relocated to a nearby cluster of residential trailers.
