Turns out, the old men still got game!
After being relegated to the losers’ bracket on day one, Falcon Camp Services’ fastball team came all the way back to go 4-0 on Sunday (Aug. 16) and claim the 2020 Spruce City inter-league tournament title.
This included a nail-biting 11-10 victory over Falcon Contracting in the final, which consists of some of the team’s sons and were even shut out by them 11-0 Saturday night (Aug. 15) to start the two-day Prince George tourney.
Overall, Falcon Camp Services went 4-1.
They tripled the FFR Glass Grays 9-3 to start the comeback, crushed the Freshii Hitmen 6-1 after lunch, then defeated the Sibola Electric Royals 12-7 immediately afterwards to reach the championship.
By virtue of the double-knockout format, the Royals finished in third, the Hitmen in fourth and the rookie-Grays in fifth.
Falcon Camp Services currently sport a regular-season record of 3-7, fourth in the five-team standings, with one week to go before playoffs start.
Falcon Contracting is continuing to dominate in league-play at 7-1.
The two teams will meet each other in the first of a doubleheader tomorrow night (Aug. 18), 6:30 p.m. at Spruce City Stadium.
Postseason games are scheduled to start on Aug. 25.
