A sign that spring is nearing!

This week, the City of Prince George opened the gates to Nechako Riverside Park ahead of the Easter long weekend as the weather turns for the better and the snow continues to melt.

This also comes during a time in COVID-19 where residents have been encouraged to be outside and socialize.

2021 marks the third open season for Nechako Riverside Park since the city officially opened it up for the public in June 2019.

It was a $1 million project by way of the Parks Division, who have described the park as a former 'party place,' tidying the area to include a to the river, six picnic table, open-lawn landscaping, a paved parking lot with RV area and a canoe launch.

The city says the park's public washroom has been cleaned and is now open for use.

Carrie Jane Gray Park is also open for the season, the City of Prince George adds, which includes several ball diamonds and trails that connect local neighbourhoods.

For more information, you can visit the parks page on the City's website.
