Britt Meierhofer, better known as Britt AM, is about to release her first full-band, full-length album.
Britt AM is a staple in the local Prince George music scene running both Girls Rock Camp and Good Egg Records.
She also finds the time to lend her talents to local bands Crones and Children of the Wave.
Britt AM has also toured nationally as a one-woman band playing for audiences in all the major cities between Vancouver and St. John’s, as well as many small towns off the beaten path.
Psychic Knots is the title of Britt AM’s new full-band arrangement and it’s slated to drop on Sept. 20.
Britt created the album with the musical support of northern B.C. artists Justin Gendreau, Nathan Kelly, and Brin Porter and it features 10 tunes recorded live in Prince George at Pulp City Music.
To launch the album, she’s running a pre-order campaign on Indiegogo which allows supporters to purchase the album before it comes out and get some exclusive merch like stickers, t-shirts and more.
“The songs on this album come from a place of vulnerability that I've not yet expressed in my work, touching on themes of self-worth, empowerment, gendered oppression and everyday living in late-stage capitalism,” says Britt on her Indiegogo pre-order campaign. “This is my most fully realized album to date, one that I definitely consider a level-up.”
To celebrate the release of the album, Britt AM and her backing band, are playing the Prince George Royal Canadian Legion on Sept. 28.
The show will also feature opening sets by northern B.C. musicians Genevieve Jaide and The Brain Porter.
Doors will open at 9 p.m.
