A Prince George new home construction company is once again stepping up when it comes to healthcare locally.

Copper Falls Custom Homes is partnering with Spirit Of The North Healthcare Foundation by building a custom home in the Aberdeen Glen area which someone can purchase.

The company approached the foundation last year with the idea of donating proceeds of a custom home.

A custom 3084 sq-ft rancher was finished in Sept. 2018 and a donation of $90,000 was made to three major healthcare areas:

  • Breast Health Imaging
  • Dedicated Maternal Operating Room
  • Four Ortho Video Operating Room Towers

“We live and raise our children in Prince George, and want the best services available if and when it is needed,” Jeff Stewart and Brent Scheck, co-owners at CopperFalls say. “Healthcare has touched us in many ways already and it is our way of doing what we do best and working with those who support us to collectively have an impact…. It shows collaboration in the biggest way.”

The focuses were picked by Copper Falls staff as well as many of their contractors.

"A dedicated Maternal OR means that other surgeries such as hip or knee replacements, tonsillectomy and cataracts or elective surgeries aren’t being postponed or cancelled when an emergency birthing situation arises," a release adds. "The Breast Health Imaging Equipment is state of the art equipment, intended to make UHNBC a one-stop breast health imaging centre to reduce wait times and increase recovery time. The Ortho Video OR Towers now allows for less downtime in surgery, better images when performing a procedure which would result in quicker healing times and less invasive surgeries."

If you would like to keep up with the project's progression, you can visit the Foundation website.

“We are so delighted to work with such an amazing team. They had a vision, shared that vision with their sub-trades, Contractors and suppliers, built a first-class home -- and added a huge amount of generosity, and the success will be enjoyed by many. We are truly touched to be their charity of choice.” Judy Neiser, CEO for Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation says. “It's humbling to have so many very incredible people come together for such an amazing project.”
