UPDATED: Man involved in indecent act on Prince George public transit bus turns himself

1:30 p.m.

Prince George Mounties say the suspect involved with an indecent act on a public transit bus on July 12 has turned himself in. 

Cpl. Craig Douglass says as a result of the media attention and release issued, the suspect then went to the downtown detachment and turned himself in.

The suspect will be processed today and released with documents to attend court at a later date pending further investigation and charge assessment from the BC Prosecution Service.

9:45 a.m.

Police in Prince George are asking for help to find a suspect after an indecent act on a bus. 

Cpl. Craig Douglass says police received a report on July 13, a day after the incident, that an incident act had taken place on a public transit bus. 

He says at roughly 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, a man boarded a bus near the corner of Wiebe and Vance Roads, went to the back of the bus and engaged in an indecent act.

The man then exited the bus at a stop near the corner of Victoria Street and Fourth Avenue

Investigators describe the suspect as: 

  • South Asian man
  • Roughly 20 to 30 years old 
  • Wearing...
    • White t-shirt
    • Blue pants with a white stripe
    • Green flip-fops
