A pair of suspects have been released for now as an investigation continues into a reported mail theft from last week.
According to Prince George RCMP, two people were arrested on the early morning of March 10 near a 15th Avenue apartment building.
Around 3:45 a.m., a witness called 9-1-1 claiming to see the pair get into a taxicab after stealing mail from the complex.
Police found the vehicle not far away, arresting one of the suspects that was still inside.
The second was located and arrested down the street, and a search found several different types of keys on a large key ring.
RCMP spokesperson Cst. Jennifer Cooper says both were taken to the downtown detachment upon their arrest.
“Both suspects were released with future court dates while police process the evidence and obtain surveillance of the theft.”
She adds the case is still under investigation with no other information being released at this time.
