Prince George snowball tournament’s 45th edition gets new location for 2020

Over The Line will now be played in Blackburn, moving from Dillmons Farm

A new era begins for a Prince George tradition that includes competition, showmanship and good times.

The Over The Line Snowball Tournament, known as OTL by the great collective, has resonated with local residents for more than four decades and has decided to take the event to a new location for its 2020 installment.

The All Weather Fools Athletic Club (AWFAC) will welcome dozens of teams to Historic Blackburn Farm in its 45th season, competing for cash and prizes after many years at Dillmons Farm off Highway 16 west.

It was announced in August that the property owner has new plans for the space, so a call was made to the public in trying to figure out where to play next.

Historic Blackburn Farm is located on 5676 Blackburn Rd., east of the Prince George Airport.

Interested residents are being encouraged to put together a four-person team and sign up for one of OTL’s three divisions, ladies, men’s and mixed.

There is a $200 entry fee per team (so if each person pitches in $50, you’re good to go).

Snowballers can sign up at the Westwood Pub (233 Cherry Ave.) Jan. 25 and 26 between 12 and 6 p.m. each day.

The AWFAC is putting on a hospitality night for participants Feb. 14 at the Columbus Community Centre.

Over the Line officially goes for Feb. 15 and 16 with a shuttle running to and from the Westwood Pub.

Proceeds from the tournament will be given to a charity to be decided at a later date.

More information can be found on OTL’s Facebook page.
