The BC Northern Real Estate Board has donated $3,000 to the Red Cross' "BC Fire Relief Fund" to support those affected by wildfires.

"Our hearts go out to the resilient people in the Okanagan and across BC who have been effected by evacuations and loss," Breanne Cote of Prince George, chair of the BC Northern Real Estate Board, said in a release. "We know from experience of past wildfires that the journey of reconstruction will pose challenges, yet it is achievable with support."

B.C. is currently experiencing its most devastating wildfire season on record, and the threat persists as we move into the fall, the board said, noting more than 11,000 individuals have had their lives disrupted by evacuation and an estimated 400 structures lost to the fires.

For those interested in contributing to the British Columbia Fires Appeal to assist in the ongoing recovery efforts, donations can be made through this link.
