A north-central B.C. resident is still letting the feeling of finally winning a lottery sink in.
Maureen Fulton matched all four Extra numbers from Lotto 6/49’s draw on Nov. 18, which put $500,000 in her pocket after scanning her ticket.
The Williams Lake woman was overwhelmed and ‘in a daze’ after discovering her big pay day.
“I think I won $500,000!” she said in a BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) news release today (Nov. 30).
“Out of the corner of my eye, I saw that it said I had won something. I scanned it again and was in such a daze, I can’t remember what crossed my mind at that moment.”
Fulton says she plans on treating herself to a new vehicle, as well as sharing the money with her family.
She first told her sister and brother of the big pay day and explained they were in disbelief when she shared the news with them.
“Doesn’t feel real yet — so it feels surreal,” adds Fulton.
She purchased her ticket at the Williams Lake Save-On-Foods and scanned her ticket at the self-checker at Handi-Mart.
In 2020 thus far, BCLC says lottery players have won more than $28 million in Extra tickets.
