Restaurants have had to be innovative as COVID-19 has forced them to close their dining rooms to the public.
One Prince George establishment has taken the opportunity to bring back classic drive-in dining.
The Westwood Pub is kickin’ it old school with not only drive-in dining but live trivia too.
All you have to do is call the pub between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., place your order, pull up and park and the staff will come and bring it to you.
You can also tune your radio to 103.5 to participate in the live trivia.
“Physical distancing doesn’t have to be boring,” says the pub in a Facebook post announcing the new service. They also said rollerskating is coming soon as their staff is in training.
Drive-in restaurants we’re really popular in the 1950s and have been featured in many TV shows and films about the period, like American Graffiti and Happy Days.
Traditionally customers park their vehicles and are usually served by staff who walk or rollerskate out to take orders and return with food, encouraging diners to remain parked while they eat – which is a perfect business model in the era of COVID-19 physical distancing.
The Westwood Pub is located at 233 Cherry Ave. and you can call 250-596-3070 to order.
