The sounds of revving engines and the smell of exhaust wafting through the air is nothing new for NITRO Motorsports Park but on this chilly Sunday morning those sounds and smells were not created by the usual two and four wheel vehicles that the track normally sees racing, but by a large number of snowmobiles that gathered to take part in the 2022 Sled Drags event.
Roughly one-hundred and fifty spectators lined the track during the fourth year of the event that saw forty-five racers participate with competitors coming from Prince George, Quesnel, Williams Lake, Kitimat, Burns Lake, and Kamloops. There were twelve different classes that racers could take part in and those were King, Open Stock, 850 Mod, 850 Stock, 800 Mod, 800 Stock, 700 Mod, 700 Stock, 600 Mod, 600 Stock, Novice Ladies, and Open.
