A local gym is saying goodbye to the community, after announcing they are unable to keep going amid the global pandemic.

CrossFit Prince George (CFPG) announced on Facebook yesterday (April 15) it's shutting its doors permanently due to uncertainty due to COVD-19.

"It is with very heavy hearts that we write to you all to inform you that CFPG has closed its doors permanently," the post reads.

"With the current global turbulence and unknown timelines, we are unable to keep CFPG running."

The company adds it's extremely grateful for the support from Prince George and helped those reach their fitness goals while also changing lives.

"We can’t begin to tell you how much we have valued your business and dedication over the years," the post continues.

"CrossFit Prince George has created such an amazing and valued community of like-minded, hard-working people, who have become accustomed to being “comfortable with being uncomfortable.

"We hope that the friendships and work ethics developed at CFPG will continue to grow and serve you well."

Those who were members of the gym are asked to stop by on April 18 between 10 a.m. and Noon to pick up any belongings they may have left.

"We thank you for your support and wish you all the best in your future fitness endeavors."
