Human remains have been discovered near Highway 16.
On Saturday afternoon (Aug. 1), Prince George RCMP says, with the assistance of the Prince George Search & Rescue Society, they recovered human remains off Highway 16, approximately 40 km east of Prince George.
Mounties say the investigation is in its early stages, however, police do not believe there are any public safety concerns.
The BC Coroners Service has been called in to conduct a parallel fact-finding investigation to determine cause of death.
